Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 7, 2026

At LyncDesk, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you use our sales agent, social messaging inbox, and commerce tools for Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct, WhatsApp Business, and TikTok. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our services, we collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: When you create an account or sign up for our services, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and professional contact information.
  • Social Channel Information: When you connect Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, or TikTok, we receive app and account identifiers, account names and handles, access and refresh tokens needed to send and receive messages, webhook verification data, and the contents of customer conversations (including text, media attachments, and delivery metadata) that those platforms deliver to us.
  • Business and Catalog Information: We store your business name, country of operation, inventory, shop, orders, and the assistant settings you choose so the sales agent can reply from your catalog.
  • Financial Information: Information related to service subscriptions, usage-based billing, and financial transactions, such as transaction amounts and billing details.
  • Usage Data: We collect data about your interaction with the platform, including browser types, device information, and usage patterns, to improve and optimize our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide our services: Operate your sales agent and inbox, display and reply to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and TikTok conversations, recommend products from your inventory, and help customers place orders.
  • To communicate with you: Send important updates, notifications, and promotional materials related to your account and our platform.
  • To process payments: Facilitate service subscriptions, usage-based billing, and other financial transactions.
  • To improve our services: Analyse usage patterns and feedback to enhance user experience and the overall functionality of the platform.
  • To meet platform requirements: Verify Meta and TikTok webhooks, maintain connected social accounts, and comply with Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and TikTok platform policies.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may disclose your information in the following cases:

  • Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate the platform, process payments, and provide technical support.
  • Messaging Platforms: Message content and account tokens are exchanged with Meta (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) and TikTok so we can deliver and receive customer conversations on your behalf.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, or to protect our rights, comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

4. Security of Your Information

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal, financial, and messaging information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. Access tokens and channel secrets are stored using application-level encryption and environment configuration. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Update: You can access and update your personal information at any time by logging into your account.
  • Disconnect channels: You may disconnect Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, or TikTok accounts from the platform. Disconnecting stops new message sync for that channel; previously stored conversations may remain until deleted under our retention practices.
  • Data Retention: We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
  • Opt-out: You can opt out of receiving marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the communication.

6. Your Right to Be Forgotten

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to be forgotten. This means that you can request the deletion of your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • You no longer wish to use the platform.
  • You believe your personal data is being processed unlawfully.
  • Your data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

To exercise your right to be forgotten, submit a request to our support team at info@lyncdesk.com. We will take reasonable steps to fulfill your request, subject to applicable legal obligations.

There may be situations in which we are unable to fully delete your data, such as when we are required to retain information for legal or financial reporting purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

LyncDesk is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
